Smart Window raised $150 Million !




Everything is getting " Smart" now. First it was smart phone then smart TV , also smart watch. Then the Smart Car came .So what left now ? You wont have any idea , It is Smart window.

According to Forbes View's Smart windows  just raised $150 million this week which led to total of $500 million. So what does it do? What is so special about it?
The company use blinds and shades to keep sunlight at bay , though simply moving them out of the way can create awkward glare and uncomfortable heat. By using your phone you can control and tint the View dynamic glass. Pretty impressive , Isn't it ?

Furthermore, The companies window can save the building 20% on its energy bill over a 12 month period. By tinting windows to reduce the sun’s intensity, buildings can regulate the temperature without having to resort to air conditioning as much. View's CEO Rao Malpuri said , "Every View window has an IP address and controllable through the Internet. Everything is at your fingertips and then it can tie a number of other things together. The windows can now talk to the lighting and HVAC system, and on a more global level it could connect to the future smart city and smart grid"

Even though View's windows of course are more expensive to buy than regular windows or cheap shading options like blinds ,View’s customers (are buying them both to be early adopters of cool tech. Furthermore , also for reducing energy use and energy costs associated with air conditioning and heating. Also the colouring effect of View’s window can cool or warm a room, and can cut 20 percent off the costs of heating and cooling, 20 percent off of lighting, and can decrease peak load by 25 percent.


Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory provide View the original core technology. The Company's CEO Malpuri said , “We’re raising capital because we need to grow. We’ll probably continue to need capital to grow,”. With $150 million round will be applied to continue expanding the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
