Magistrate definition and duties




Q. Who is Magistrate ?
Ans : A person who accomplishes the judicial functions under the low court is generally called Magistrate.
Or
As per section -3(31) of General Clauses Act-1897, a person who applies attributed powers under CrPC ( The Code of Criminal Procedure ) is called Magistrate.
The Magistrates observe their judicial & executive duties in district & thana level.
Q. What are the functions & responsebilities of a Magistrate ?
Ans: Major function of a Magistrate is judicial function. Also,
A) Guiding police action ( for especial case ).
B) Conducting the public exams .
C) Assist the returning officers .
D) Observing protocol duty.
