List of Hormones for Banking Jobs and BCS preparation

Hormones are the chemical substances which organize the activities and growth of living organisms. They are secreted by endocrine glands from different tissues in our body. Different hormones affect body shape differently. Some of these hormones work rapidly to start or stop a cycle and others may work continuously for a long period to conduct their functions

List of hormones and their essential roles.

 1. Thyroid gland hormones essentially release two hormones Triiodothyronine (T3) and Thyroxine (T4), which aid in regulating our body's metabolism. Such hormones further control weight, assess energy levels, temperature of the internal body, skin, hair, etc.

2.Insulin- This hormone is produced by pancreas, a gland-like leaf found in the cavity of the abdomen behind the stomach. It helps the body to use glucose or carbohydrate sugar for energy in the food or for future use to store glucose.

This helps to prevent the amount of blood sugar from being too high i.e.hyperglycemia or too low i.e. hypoglycemia.

3. Estrogen It's a sex hormone released from ovaries by women. It is responsible for menstrual reproduction and menopause. In the female body, excess estrogen raises the risk of breast cancer, uterine cancer, depression, moodiness, etc .. If the amount of oestrogen in the female body is high, this results in acne, skin lesions, thinning skin, hair loss etc.

4. Progesterone hormone is produced in ovaries, placenta when a woman is pregnant, and glands of the adrenals. It activates different functions, and controls them. It plays an significant part in keeping pregnancy going. It helps preparing the body for conception, pregnancy and controlling the monthly process. When pregnancy does not occur, the rates of progesterone decrease and there is a menstrual cycle.

5. Prolactin This hormone is released for lactation by the pituitary gland after a child's birth, which facilitates breast feeding for females. Prolactin hormone levels increase during pregnancy, i.e. by inhibiting follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) it also plays a significant role in fertility.

6.Testostrone It's a sex hormone for males. By definition it is an anabolic steroid

that helps to create muscles in the body. It plays an important role in male

reproductive tissue production in males; tests, and prostrate. It also encourages secondary sexual characteristics such as increasing muscle and bone mass, body hair production, etc. If testosterone is secreted to be inadequate in men then it may provide disorders involving bone loss and frailty.

7. Serotonin It is a compound for the mood-boosting effect or is also known as the chemical for the feel-good of nature. It's correlated with learning and memory, sleep control, digestion, mood management, certain muscle functions etc. Because of the body's serotonin deficiency, brain doesn't generate enough of the hormone to control mood or stress. Low serotonin levels cause depression, migraine, weight gain, insomnia, food cravings etc. In the body, excess serotonin levels cause agitation, confusion stage, sedation etc.

 8. Cortisol The adrenal gland produces the hormone. It lets you stay safe and full of energy. Its principal role is to regulate physical and psychological stress. It raises heart rate, blood pressure, respiration etc. in danger state. Body secretes cortisol at stressful times to cope with situation. Consistently elevated cortisol levels cause ulcer, high blood pressure, anxiety, high cholesterol levels etc. Moreover, low cortisol levels in the body induce alcoholism, disease that is responsible for a syndrome of chronic fatigue etc.

9. Adrenaline adrenaline secretion is secreted in the adrenal gland medulla

as is some of the neurons in the central nervous system. It is also known as emergency hormone because it initiates the rapid reaction which makes the person think and respond to the stress quickly. This raises the rate of metabolism, dilating the blood vessels flowing into the heart and brain. Throughout stressful conditions, adrenaline escapes rapidly into the blood, and sends impulses to the organs to produce a particular response.

10. Production hormone Also known as the hormone somatotropin. It's essentially a protein hormone of 190 amino acids that is synthesized and secreted in the anterior pituitary by the cells called somatotrophs. It stimulates development, cell regeneration and metabolism boosting for cell reproduction. It is essential for

the creation of humanity. So, now you may have come to learn about the different hormones in the human body and their roles.
