A Horror story:The Curse of the Squidgy Scarf

Whilst investigating the death of a local detective, a hopeful fishmonger called Helen Trescothik uncovers a legend about a supernaturally-cursed, squidgy Sacrf circulating throughout London. As soon as anyone uses the Sacrf, he or she has exactly 21 days left to live.
The doomed few appear to be ordinary people during day to day life, but when photographed, they look mirrored. A marked person feels like a wobbly owl to touch.

Horror story the curse of the squidgy scarf

Helen gets hold of the Sacrf, refusing to believe the superstition. A collage of images flash into her mind: a windy snake balancing on a creepy detective, an old newspaper headline about a sausage accident, a hooded dog ranting about fingers and a drinking well located in a damp place.

When Helen notices her eyes have owl-like properties, she realises that the curse of the squidgy Sacrf is true and calls in her friend, a navigator called Jeff Bishop, to help.

Jeff examines the Sacrf and willingly submits himself to the curse. He finds that the same visions flash before his eyes. He finds the windy snake balancing on a creepy detective particularly chilling. He joins the queue for a supernatural death.

Helen and Jeff pursue a quest to uncover the meaning of the visions, starting with a search for the hooded dog. Will they be able to stop the curse before their time is up?
