What are car problems can be ?

BMW car servicingSome people’s cars are their pride and joy.  They clean them regularly, buy all manner of quirky accessories and show them off wherever possible.  However, regular maintenance is a must and a routine car service is always a good idea, no matter what age your vehicle is, to prevent various car faults.

In fact, there’s nothing worse than waking up in the morning to find that your car has a problem.  Even worse is if you get stranded on the side of the road due to a mechanical fault.  However, a regular car service carried out by a reputable company should stand you in the best stead going forward.

And don’t think it’s just older models that require regular services. Even drivers of BMWs, for example, have to be conscious of their maintenance routine and treat their cars to a BMW car service.

But what are the most common faults with cars? Let’s take a look at five:

Battery Issues

A flatt battery is a common car faultWe’ve all woken up in the morning only to find that we left our car’s lights on overnight and now the battery’s flat. It’s such a common occurrence and one that has plagued motorists for years.

Fortunately, however, many cars nowadays emit an audible alarm whenever the lights have been left on, so it is definitely becoming less of an issue.

The only thing to do when faced with a situation like this is either to charge your car’s battery using a charger, or use a set of jump leads and start it off of someone else’s battery.

Lost keys/locked inside the vehicle

Losing your car keys is really annoyingOkay, so this isn’t exactly a car fault, but it is still a problem that prevents people from driving their cars.

Again, it’s something that we’ve all done and when it happens it’s incredibly frustrating. Closing the car door and hearing that clunk as it snaps into its housing, only to be hit with the fact that you left the keys inside and now it’s locked – d’oh!

Flat Tyre

A flat tyre is a common car faultFew things are as frustrating as getting a flat tyre when you’ve just set off on an important journey or a day out with the family. It can be a nightmare changing the wheel on your own by the side of the road and you’ll inevitably get filthy in the process.

Regular car services check for tyre damage and your mechanic will advise you when they need changing. This should prevent roadside breakdowns.

Fuel Faults

From running out to putting the wrong kind in your vehicle, fuel issues are a common occurrence and regular cause of car faults.  Remain focussed when filling your vehicle to ensure that you always use the correct fuel and keep a keen eye on the gauge to prevent yourself from running out.

Other fuel problems can occur due to blockages in fuel lines caused by debris and for this reason, it’s never good to leave a car just sat for a long time without starting it.

Broken Cables

Snapped cables are now a fairly rare car faultBelieve it or not, cables like the ones that operate your clutch, brakes and throttle are under a great deal of stress. They can weaken over time and ultimately break.  Thankfully this is becoming a rarer kind of car fault these days, but it still affects older cars quite a lot.

Some people might tell you that there are numerous DIY fixes for a broken clutch cable, but why should you have to bother? Have your car serviced regularly and it won’t ever be an issue.
